May Birthday Blessings

Birthday Blessings were given to the following children born in the month of May:

Miss E was absent when we celebrated the May birthdays.  We will have to celebrate her birthday next month.

Number/Colour Game

We have been practicing numbers and colours with an old game that many of you may have played in your younger years.  The children love it!

Today, one of the students asked me how to make the game for herself.  She tried to make it, but of course needed help with the folding.  Once other children saw what she had made, I was very busy folding games for other children. If they were capable, they printed numbers on the outside and coloured dots of colour on the inside. This is an excellent way to practice colors and numbers.  It is also good Fine Motor practice as manipulating the paper to open and close requires a bit of skill!

Planting Flowers

We have planted beans and marigolds in Pre K and we will be watching anxiously for them to sprout.  At a play center, we have artificial flowers, soil and other props to play with.  The kids are enjoying this activity.

Koala

We brought out a new toy, today.  It is called a Koala and the kids had a blast with it.  Along with the fun and physical skills that it provides, it is great for socialization.  The children were great at asking friends to spin them in the Koala.  And, they were great at taking turns.  It is so good to see social skills that have progressed so nicely by this time in the school year.  Way to go Pre K!
