Happy Birthday to these three Kiddos who celebrated their birthdays in January!

Number Sense

We have been working on number sense in Pre K.  Simple games like these are an excellent way for children to learn about numbers.  If you play games with your children at home, you will see that their knowledge of numbers and what numbers mean, will improve greatly.  Also, playing games is a good way to teach taking turns, sharing and being a good sport. 

Groundhog Day and Shadows

Feb. 2 is Groundhog Day and we have been learning such vocabulary as "hibernation, shadows, groundhog, burrow, winter, spring" etc.  We have also been exploring shadows with an overhead projector and through sunny outside play.

Pre K - B Fingerpaints the First Letter in Their Name

Today it was Pre K -B's turn to do some finger painting.  Thank you to the parents that were able to come help.

We are working at recognizing our names in print.  Today, some parents came to help with finger painting over the first letter in the children's names.  Thank you to all those who were able to come. 

A Shaving Cream Sensory Experience and Name Recognition

For the past two days, the students have had fun playing in shaving cream.  Some practiced printing letters in the shaving cream.  Others wrote their names in the shaving cream.  This lead to some children creating works of art with their names at the Art Center.
