Fine Motor Skills

We have been working hard at improving our fine motor skills in Pre K.  Children need strong muscles in their fingers, hands and upper body before they are able to print easily.  Activities such as gluing, and cutting help to build strong fingers and hands.

We have been learning the proper way to hold our scissors.  Parents may want to practice this with their children at home.

Notice how some children have the technique and some are almost there.  We will gently help the children hold the scissors properly when we see the wrong grasp.
