The Christmas Spirit is Alive in Pre K!
Today, the children were in the Christmas Spirit and chose to do many "Christmasy" things.
When I asked this young fellow about his drawing, he told me he was drawing a baby and his mommy. I noticed that the baby was inside mommy and remarked about that old loud. He told me that it was Baby Jesus.
Other children decided to go to the art Center and find folded construction paper Christmas trees to cut out and decorate.
Another little guy was busy colouring a tree.
Some of the artwork found it's way to our class Christmas Tree.
These girls were playing with "TheraPutty" a wonderful activity to strengthen the muscles in fingers and hands. They were wrapping gems in the TheraPutty and pretending they were presents. Then they would give the presents to their friends to open. Not only was this a great fine motor skill activity, it was also a great way to practice good social skills!

Invitations
In Pre K we set out invitations for children to partake in. The Art Center is always open and children are invited to create anything they wish. Children learn much more when the project they are working on is of their own choosing. This little boy chose to practice his cutting skills by snipping strips of paper into smaller pieces. He had the proper grip, enjoyed himself and experienced a sense of accomplishment for a job well done....a job that he had set his own goals for and completed on his own.

Creativity in Pre K
The Art Center is always open to the kiddos to create artwork. This little boy decided he wanted to make a tiger from the craft supplies. He organized, planned and created the craft all on his own! What creativity!

iPads to Cars and Snow Angels
Today, three of the boys built "iPads" from Lego. They were playing quite well together (although a little loudly!). They were having great fun and pretended the iPads magically turned into cars. At one point a teacher had to step in to help with a sharing problem, but for the most part, they did a good job of playing together. Way to go boys!
