We have been reading "Bark, George" By Jules Feiffer. The story has props to go with it so the children can retell the story. Retelling helps with comprehension and is an excellent language activity. If you have the chance to read this book with your child, I highly reccommend it. It is a very amusing story with a twist at the end. See if you and your child catch the twist. If you can't get hold of the book, have your child retell the story to you. You may be surprised at how much of the book s/he can retell.
